OK, but just get the single piece one instead...

I was disappointed by how wobbly the bottom end of the whistle is as a result of the swivel. This is not a carefully measured, high-end 2 part whistle (which makes sense for the price), so the bottom end just feels unstable while playing. I did solve the issue by adding a little bit of scotch tape (half a turn, on the back of the whistle) to give a little extra thickness and now it feels much more solid. TBH, I think I'll just end up carefully super gluing the thing, so the "swivel" feature will be rendered useless...

I'm not saying not to buy it, but IMO just get the regular single piece one.... (which I also got, one in F, and I'm liking it more).

Another thing. In the picture they look like they're conical in shape, but mine is just a straight PVC tube, with some random website to the PVC manufacturer (Marshall-Tufflex, in case you're wondering) printed on it. You can't really see it much because the writing is black, but it definitely feels like they were paying no attention. I'll add a picture, but sorry, it doesn't look like the whistle they advertise, the whistle I bought. It feels cheap (the logo and key engravings look awful IMO, I would have 100% preferred they just put a good looking sticker).

NEVERTHELESS...JD's whistle is a good whistle, it's fairly on tune and its extremely light. It has a mellow, airy, breathy tone (similar to what a clarke high D/C will sound like), which I think is very melancholic. This also (unfortunately) means that it requires more air than some of my other whistles. I mostly use them to record slow airs, so I'm not so bothered about it, but if you plan to use for faster tunes, you might run out of breath before the end of your usual phrasings.

One last thing. These things are QUIET. The volume is quite low, which I actually like because it's great for practicing in my apartment. But bear in mind that it might just be useless in a session with other musicians...

Conclusion : A cheap looking, nicely sounding, fairly priced entry level whistle for those out there just looking to fool around with the instrument before committing to buying something pricier like a Howard or an MK.

Whistle sounds good but the lower detachable piece is quite wobbly. Have to see if I can tape it to get a better fit.

Got the whistle in great time and in great condition. It sounds great. once in a while when I play it correctly. This is my first whistle so it will take some time to master it, but The bottom swivel is a gem makes it much easier to reach the bottom holes
